Class Descriptions

Our classes range from traditional Hatha Yoga for beginners & intermediate level students to creative classes designed to promote body/mind integration & relaxation.  If you're looking for a cardio challenge, try our PiYo Live or Barre fitness classes, and for core strengthening there's Pilates Mat.  There's truly something for everyBODY here in our cozy little downtown studio.  Come see for yourself.

Yoga Classes

 

Yoga Core & Restore 

Thursdays 6 AM, Fridays 1230 PM with Cari

A fusion of gentle all-levels yoga, pilates mat and restorative poses. We'll start the class with gentle warming stretches and then progress to a standing flow of yoga poses designed to strengthen the body. Through pilates inspired exercises on the floor, we'll work on core strength and then progress into supported poses designed to relax the mind and stretch tight muscles. We'll end class in a supported savasana (final relaxation pose). A great balance between stretch, strength and relaxation!

Yoga Stretch, Flow & Restore 

Saturdays 915 AM with Cari

Beginning with a gently warming sequence of seated, progressing to standing stretches we'll settle into gentle yoga poses to stretch and strengthen. After more stretching, we'll settle into a restorative pose or two and end with a generous final relaxation pose. 

 

All Levels Yoga

Tuesdays 5:15 PM with Cari AND Tuesdays 9 AM with Brittney from our sister studio

 

We’ll gently warm the body & move through a multi-optioned flow of poses to gain strength & increase stamina, or to calm and cool the body...the choice is yours.  Options to practice beginners & intermediate level poses in this class.  Appropriate for all level practitioners.

 Slow Flow & Stretch

Mondays 6:15 - 7 PM with Diane

We'll  begin with a gentle warmup and centering of the mind and progress into standing stretches and yoga poses designed to build strength. After a series of seated stretches on the floor, we'll enjoy a relaxing savasana!

Wednesday Night Chill 

645 PM with Cari *these 3 classes alternate each week*

Yoga Nidra- a guided meditation & relaxation practice that is intended to induce complete relaxation...physically, mentally, and emotionally. You'll settle in to a nest of blankets and bolsters that support your body so you can relax & let go as you're led through this deeply relaxing meditation.

Restorative Yoga-a relaxing class using blankets & pillows to support the body in poses, held 2-5 minutes each for deep stretching of the body and to relax the mind. Vin & Yin-some gentle flow, followed by stretches held for longer periods. Deep stretching of the body and breathing exercises to enter deep relaxation.

Yoga Sculpt

Tuesdays 6 AM & Thursdays 515 PM with Cari

An all levels yoga flow class with *kettlebells and resistance bands thrown into the mix. A little strength, stretch and cardio, and of course, savasana!! *hand held weights or bags filled with sand can be used as an alternative to kettlebells

Gentle Yoga 

Thursdays 10 AM With Sadie from Upward Dog Studio in Canada 

A class designed around a soft flow of postures which are modified with intermittent relaxation which allows the absorption of the benefits of each pose and the class as a whole. This is a wonderful restorative experience, great for those recovering from an injury or under stress. A class for all ages and levels.  

 

Beginners Yoga

Saturdays 10 AM with Jane from Effervescent Yoga Studio in SC LIVESTREAM

These classes focus on alignment ,strength, flexibility, and balance using the teachings of yoga in a variety of class formats. We'll explore poses that are guided by your own breath and move according to the needs of our bodies.

 

Mindful Movement & Meditation

Gently stretch away the day's tension and then settle in for a variety of breathing exercises and guided meditations. End with a final relaxation pose supported by blankets and allow tension to melt away as you relax the body and mind, just allowing yourself to be.
 

 

 

Barre & Fitness Classes

PiYo Live

Alternating Tuesdays 630 PM & Saturdays 1030 AM with Brandy A

PiYo Live is a low-impact, high intensity, up-tempo workout designed to build strength and increase flexibility by incorporating dynamic balance, athletic/dance conditioning and plyometrics in a rhythmic approach to mind/body fitness.  It is an ideal format for any level of fitness from beginners to advanced with modifications and advanced options being provided to participants. 

Arm Pump & Flow  

Thursdays 8 - 845 AM with Brandy W

A fusion of arm focused total body toning and yoga flow. Hand held weights optional. (use plastic bags filled with sand as an alternative if you don't have weights)

Barre Tone

Fridays 8:00 AM, Wednesdays 5:15 PM, Mondays 5:15 PM with Jennifer

This workout is designed to tone, tighten and trim your entire body one muscle at a time. We'll work the legs, glutes, abs and arms by executing small, controlled movements with repetition and mixed sets. Challenge yourself as much or as little as you want in each exercise. Lift your mood and reduce some stress by trying this upbeat class!

Sunday Barre with Tatiana from Upward Dog Studio in Canada LIVESTREAM

Sundays 10 AM

 Low impact strengthening exercise targeting every muscle group in your body. This class involves micro-movements and some Pilates elements. 

 

Because you will be following instructions from home you will need a stable chair and a weight set. 2-3 lbs is good enough. If you don't have weights fill  0.5 L water bottles with water or sand.

POUND Fit® 

Mondays & Wednesdays 8 AM with Brandy W

A full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training using

Ripstix® (lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising). POUND transforms drumming into an effective way of working out.

Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is
easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.

Barre + Yoga

A fusion of traditional hatha yoga with work at the barre & center floor for the core, arms and legs. We'll use a combination of slow - moderately paced ballet & yoga inspired exercises to strengthen, lengthen & tone!

 A HIIT style, full bod workout! Dynamic and fast paced. Get ready to sweat!

Box @ the Barre

A workout at the ballet barre inspired by boxing & pilates. Strengthen, lengthen and tone in this 45 minute cardio and strength class.

Cardio Kickboxing with Cari

A quick paced, at-your-own-challenge-level combo of kickboxing moves and exercises at the barre and center floor to tone the arms and legs and kick up the heart rate!

Barre + Cardio with Brandy

A full body barre workout followed by Pilates mat exercises, the ring and stretching! A nice core-focused class!

Balletone with Cari

A cardio-focused strength and ballet INSPIRED series of movements linked together to create a fun and continuous dance. Customize your movments to find your perfect groove. NO previous experience with ballet or dance required...just be ready to come have fun, laugh, and get your heart rate up!

Special Events

 

Socially-distanced, outdoors class 

Image from 2018. Mats are spaced at least 6' apart now in compliance with recommended social distancing guidelines. This class will also be live-streamed if you prefer to join us from home!

Saturdays 915 - 10 AM

Yoga Stretch, Flow & Restore

 An all-levels class with equal amounts of stretching and a gentle flow of standing poses, progressing into restorative yoga poses and final relaxation (savasana).
