Yoga Classes
Vin & Yin (Flow & Stretch) Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:15 PM
with Lindsay
A great stretching class with standing slow yoga flow & balance segments to warm, stretch and strengthen muscle tone while focusing on the breath, balancing movement with stillness. During the Yin portion in the last part of class, poses will be held for longer periods of time to allow for deep stretching of the body and calmness of the mind.

Mindful Flow: Thursdays 5:30 - 6:15 PM with Cari
The concept behind our Mindful Flow Yoga class is that the mind is projected toward specific areas of the body, and that these areas can manifest as physical symptoms.
Each area of the body, known as a Chakra, is responsible for different behaviors and values and help regulate the body. Represented as a different color of the rainbow, every Chakra is also associated with one of the 5 Elements (fire, water, earth, air, spirit).
When one of these areas are blocked, emotional, mental and physical imbalances can occur and these manifest in symptoms like anxiety, lethargy, digestive and other health issues.
Through the use of specific asanas (poses), pranayama (breathwork), mudra (hand gestures/poses) and mindful meditation, the intention of this class is to restore balance in these areas. Each class will have a different focus and is appropriate for all levels.
Gentle Yoga Wednesdays 10:30 AM with Cari livestream & in-studio. Beginning in a seated position, we'll practice breathing exercises and progress into a warming stretching sequence. Moving to a standing position, we'll flow through poses to gently stretch and strengthen body and mind. We'll work on some deep stretching and end in final relaxation/savasana. Slow (All-Levels)
Mondays (with Celeste) 7:45-8:45 PM via livestream only
In yin yoga we practice longer held (2-5 minutes) passive stretches; poses are low to the ground, generally seated or supine. We focus on putting stress on the connective tissues such as the ligaments, joints, fascia, and tendons of the hips, pelvis, sacrum, and spine in order to build range of motion. This class allows you to turn inward, observe, and move qi through the meridians of the body. We end with the soothing balm of Savasana and a short seated meditation.
Yoga Stretch, Flow & Restore
Saturdays 915 AM with Cari or Lindsay in-studio AND livestream
We’ll begin with centering breathing exercises and stretching designed to warm the body and then we’ll move into a gentle flow of yoga poses. You’ll be offered variations within each pose to meet your goals for your practice. This class ends with deep stretches and a restorative pose or two, and ends in a calming savasana (final relaxation pose).
Restorative & Yoga Nidra
No classes on the current schedule
We'll start this class in a comfortable position using props (blankets, pillows/bolsters) to support your body for deep rest. Poses after this will be held 3-5 minutes using props to support yourself in comfortable, deep stretching.
Meaning yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra is an ancient technique involving deep states of conscious relaxation. It is a systematic practice of moving awareness from the external to the internal world.
Yoga Nidra brings us to a state of deep sleep where our senses, intellect, and mind relax, allowing us to become free from the concepts of time, space and reason. Our brain activity decreases and our bodies enter a healing state. As the body enters this healing state, we remove baggage from the subconscious and gain deep restoration for the mind.
Accessible to all, Yoga Nidra involves lying in a comfortable position with the aid of props (pillows, blankets, or bolsters) to support the body fully so that we are able to fully let go and enter deep states of rest.
Yoga Core & Restore
Thursdays 6 AM livestream only, Fridays 12:30 PM in-studio and livestream with Cari
A fusion of gentle all-levels yoga, pilates mat and restorative poses. We'll start the class with gentle warming stretches and then progress to a standing flow of yoga poses designed to strengthen the body. Through pilates inspired exercises on the floor, we'll work on core strength and then progress into supported poses designed to relax the mind and stretch tight muscles. We'll end class in a supported savasana (final relaxation pose). A great balance between stretch, strength and relaxation!

FEATURED BOOK: I Am Yoga (I Am Books)
by Susan Verde (Author), Peter H. Reynolds (Illustrator)
An eagle soaring among the clouds or a star twinkling in the night sky . . . a camel in the desert or a boat sailing across the sea. Yoga has the power of transformation. Not only does it strengthen bodies and calm minds, but with a little imagination, it can show us that anything is possible.
The word “yoga” means union. Yoga is the connection between mind and body. A yoga practice is a way to handle stress, find calm in your mind and strength in your body, and be present. As they grow, children, like adults, encounter stress on many levels, from bad dreams to arguments with siblings to pressure from friends. Yoga can help young children strengthen their bodies, calm their minds, and become aware of the body-mind connection in a noncompetitive, playful way. It’s never too early to learn to be less stressed and more mindful.
I Am Yoga encourages children to explore the world of yoga and make room in their hearts for the world beyond it.
Our Persnickety Books folks will read us the book and we'll follow up with a yoga class based on our book with Downtown Yoga
.
